Liquid Swords 2: The Return of the Shadowboxer is the seventh studio album by American rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member GZA, scheduled to be released in 2012[1][2]. Fellow group member RZA has announced that he would be producing the album in its entirety[3].
Serving as the sequel to GZA's critically acclaimed second album Liquid Swords, Liquid Swords 2: The Return of the Shadowboxer was first announced in spring of 2010[4]. The album marks the first time that GZA and RZA have collaborated for an entire album since 1995[5].
Similar to the first Liquid Swords album, The Return of the Shadowboxer was written and recorded in the same manner, where both GZA and RZA worked in the studio together, as opposed to the common modern collaboration method where producers send the artists their work through computers[5]. In late January of 2011, GZA has announced that work on Liquid Swords 2 has been postponed while he works on another as yet untitled album.[6]
